Architecture jobs are commonly available in architectural firms and building contractors. Architects may also work for the government or in their own businesses.

Responsibilities in Architecture Jobs

In architecture jobs, consulting with clients is important. Architects must first determine what clients would like by clarifying the amount of alloted budget and the kind of building preferred. Then, architects may conduct
investigations of the construction site and the building design fits the appearance of adjacent buildings. After inspections, architects may begin to prepare drafts of the client's building and discuss the specifications with the client.

Architects sketch more intricate plans after the drafts have been approved of. The plans mention the type of materials required and the construction method to be used. The plans also mention the dimensions of the materials and the locations where materials are to be placed.

Architects present the detailed building plan to the contractor and request for bids on materials. They may also monitor the construction operations once they have begun. Architects are also often required to work along with engineers and landscape artists from time to time.

Education and Skills Required in Architecture Jobs

Aspiring architects may begin honing their skills in high school when classes in art, art history, mechanical drawing, mathematics, and physics are being offered. They may proceed to take specialised courses in college and earn a degree in architecture. Additional courses that may help are engineering, building design and construction, and structural theory.

After studying, aspiring architects may apply in architectural firms as trainees or architecture assistants. Training is usually for two or more years, after which, trainees may take architectural examinations to obtain rofessional licenses.

In architecture jobs, architects must have artistic and creative skills. They must know how to draw and use computer designing programs. They must also have listening and communication skills which will help in determining clients' preferences. Organisation and administrative skills are also important in architecture jobs since there are many factors to handle in construction operations.
